Thank you for visiting my site. A very rare manuscript leaf written in a vernacular language, rather than in the much more common Latin. It is from a fragment of a Dutch liturgical book on vellum, written in dark-brown and red ink, adorned with hand painted, gold-heightened initials and various other decorations, done most likely in a Dutch scriptorium around 1460. Size of the leaf : ca. 6.6″ x 4.75″(170 mm x 120 mm). Condition: As shown, in good condition on vellum with evidence of use, aging and storage: customary toning of the vellum, light soiling, edge and original vellum flaws, etc. Pictured : Both sides of the leaf for sale. Please note: I never restore or treat my items with chemicals to enhance their appearance. Therefore, you can be confident that this item will not deteriorate beyond the natural aging process.
