Victorian Era / Napoleon III. This unique late 19. Century pendant is sooo romantic! The central plaque is hand painted enamel on copper plaque Aka Swiss Geneva Enamel. The painting depicts a young man, a travelling troubadour poet, musician and singer. He is holding a long sheet of paper in his hand, and a bag pipe lies at his feet (or a bag and two flutes). He is sitting next to an old tree on a rock in an open landscape, gazing at the distance, as if thinking of new words for his poem. All that is depicted in many many shades of’antique’ pink, with some browns and grays. It reminds me of’Sepia’ in pink but rather than watercolors, here it is done in enamels. The enamel plaque is extremely detailed. And to add to the indication of quality, it has a mother of pearl back plate. The painting is framed in 18K yellow gold (acid tested), and the pendant comes with an 18K (marked and tested) chain. Very light scratches to the surface commemorate with age and use, hardly noticed. Any white or dark spots seen the pictures are either light reflections i. Near his foot, shade or a some dirt. Pendant measures (oval element only, without the bail): 1.16″ X 0.78″(29.5X19.9 mm). Total weight: 8.22 grams. 17.5 (44.5cm). Let me know if you with to do so. 2-7 DAYS DEPENDING ON LOCATION.
