The full moon night when he had a direct realization of Nirvana (eternal peace), which transformed prince into Buddha. The times he spent guiding people towards nirvana, love and friendship. The Proclamation of the Teachings. The Descent from the Trayatrimsa Heaven. The Passage into Parinirvana. A thangka, also known as tangka, thanka or tanka is a painting on cotton, or silk appliqué, usually depicting a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala of some sort. The thangka is not a flat creation like an oil painting or acrylic painting but consists of a picture panel which is painted or embroidered over which a textile is mounted and then over which is laid a cover, usually silk. Generally, thangkas last a very long time and retain much of their luster, but because of their delicate nature, they have to be kept in dry places where moisture won’t affect the quality of the silk. It is sometimes called a scroll-painting. These thangka served as important teaching tools depicting the life of the Buddha, various influential lamas and other deities and bodhisattvas. One subject is The Wheel of Life, which is a visual representation of the Abhidharma teachings (Art of Enlightenment). Thangka, when created properly, perform several different functions. Images of deities can be used as teaching tools when depicting the life (or lives) of the Buddha, describing historical events concerning important Lamas, or retelling myths associated with other deities. Devotional images act as the centerpiece during a ritual or ceremony and are often used as mediums through which one can offer prayers or make requests. Overall, and perhaps most importantly, religious art is used as a meditation tool to help bring one further down the path to enlightenment. The Buddhist Vajrayana practitioner uses a thangka image of their yidam, or meditation deity, as a guide, by visualizing themselves as being that deity, thereby internalizing the Buddha qualities. This wonderful high quality Life of Buddha Thangka Painting is painted by a master level artist of Nepal. For this, we have ” Quality Products” with “Cheaper Price”. This is wonderful original handpainted thangka painting of Yamantaka from Nepal. It is painted on canvas with pure natural mineral pigment colors and 24k gold paint accents. The painting illustrates Yamantakas wrathful appearance with three eyes, multiple hands/legs and fires of dissolution around him. Length: 18.75 inch (total). Height: 25.15 inch (total). Sometimes he is conceptualized as “conqueror of death”. Yamntaka is a wrathful expression of Mañjur, the Samyaksambuddha of wisdom who, in other contexts, also functions as a dharmapala or a Heruka. Yamntaka manifests in several different forms, one of which (via yogatantra) has six legs, six faces and six arms holding various weapons while sitting or standing on a water buffalo. Within Buddhism, “terminating death” is a quality of all buddhas as they have stopped the cycle of rebirth, samsara. Yamantaka represents the goal of the Mahayana practitioner’s journey to enlightenment, or the journey itself: in awakening, one adopts the practice of Yamntaka the practice of terminating death. Yamantaka is always depicted as fear-inducing, scary, and intimidating. Not only is he terrifying to look at but – according to the Vajrabhairava Tantra – he also has conquered all evil spirits, including the Lord of Death, Yama. That’s why he is also called “Yamantaka”, the Slayer of Death. He is one of the 8 protectors of the Dharmapalas. Welcome To Mandala Arts Gallery. We are Gallery Based in Melbourne and registered Business in Australia. Our Paintings are mostly based with Tibetan & Chinese Original Paintings which we directly collected from various well established Artists from Nepal, Tibet & China. Original Tibetan Wheel of life Mandala thangka Painting. Material:Gold Leaf + Stone & Mineral Colors in Linen Cotton Canvas. Signed & Painted by Master Tibetan Artist. Commonly referred to as the “Wheel of Life, ” this classical image from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition depicts the psychological states, or realms of existence, associated with the unenlightened state. A powerful mirror for spiritual aspirants, the wheel of deluded existence is often painted to the left of Tibetan monastery doors; it offers an opportunity for monks and pilgrims alike to look deeply into their essential being. At the center of the Mandala, the intertwined images of a pig, a rooster, and a snake symbolically depict the ignorance, greed, and aggression that characterize the worlds of suffering and dissatisfaction, which Buddhist call Samsara. Surrounding the central figures are five concentric rings of attendant deities or, in the case of these Thangkas, their symbolic equivalents. The first circle, the circle of Great Bliss, consists of four goddesses in the four cardinal directions. At the intermediate points of the compass are four skull cups supported by vases and containing seminal essences, blood, five ambrosial nectars, and the five awakening. The second circle is the Circle of Mind (Chittachakra); the third is the Circle of Speech (Vakrachakra); the fourth, the Circle of the Body (Kayachakra); and the fifth, the Circle of Tantric Vows (Samayachakra). In the second two versions, these circles are represented by stylized lotus petals radiating from the central image. Each of the Mandalas is inscribed by a decorative frieze of mythical animals and floral motifs, an element introduced into Buddhist painting in the mid twentieth century by Newar artists of the Kathmandu valley. As a support for inner transformation, Chakrasamvara’s blissful radiance converts timid responses to reality into radical engagement. When desire no longer clings to its object, it awakens to its primordial nature, which no longer divides into self and other. This blissful awareness encompasses all life and emotions, combusting in the liberating vision of selfless ecstasy. On the outer ring of the first Mandala are the eight charnel grounds that confront Tantric practitioners with a realm beyond hopes, desires, preferences, and fears. The charnel grounds signify the transformative energies of Tantra itself, the seamless continuity of life and death. Ignorance of our true nature is transformed in the charnel grounds into fearless and radiant awareness, the corpse of our mundane self consumed by jackals and flames. Without an acceptance of death and transfiguration, our aspirations to wholeness, to Buddhahood, can never bear fruit. All Creation Begins with the sacred union of male and female energies. To experience the pure creative passion between man and woman, to know unconditional love, is to manifest the body, mind, and spirit of a Buddha. Original Tibetan Buddha Mandala thangka Painting. Material:Gold Leaf + Stone & Mineral Colors in Linen Cotton Canvas. Signed & Painted by Master Tibetan Artist. Meaning of the Painting. The definition of mandala literally means “circle”. It’s when we define mandala in energetic terms we find that mandala meaning deals with a visual aid that pulls in the human consciousness. That’s why mandalas are so effective in meditation. The circular, often concentric design of mandalas tends to visually magenetize consciousness and awareness, allowing focus to draw inward – which is a wanted result in meditation. The above Mandala is called Mantra mandala which consits of 4 tibetan words “Om Mane Padme Hum” O mai padme h[1] (Sanskrit: , IPA: [õ mipdme]) is the six-syllabled Sanskrit mantra particularly associated with the four-armed Shadakshari form of Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig, Chinese: Guanyin, Japanese: Kannon), the bodhisattva of compassion. The first word Om is a sacred syllable found in Nepali religions and Indian religions. The word Mani means “jewel” or “bead”, Padme is the “lotus flower” (the Buddhist sacred flower), and Hum represents the spirit of enlightenment. According to the Tibetan tradition, the Buddha emanated as Bhaishajyaguru, the “master of remedies, ” thousands of years ago. He established the Tibetan medical tradition in the form of texts known as The Four Tantras of Secret Instructions on the Eight Branches of the Essence of Immortality, which are more commonly referred to as Gyushi, The Four Medical Tantras. The master of remedies holds in his right hand a spring of aurora, or cherubic Myrobalan, from which much of Tibetan medicine is compounded. Welcome To Mandala Arts Gallery. We are Gallery Based in Melbourne and registered Business in Australia. Our Paintings are mostly based with Tibetan & Chinese Original Paintings which we directly collected from various well established Artists from Nepal, Tibet & China. Original Tibetan Mantra Mandala thangka Painting.
